Shelter Pets Need You
Our volunteers are our most important asset and they do a remarkable job for the animals, the shelter, and its programs. Volunteers come from all walks of life and all parts of the DFW Metroplex. We want our volunteers to work at the times that fit their schedules and participate in activities that meet their interests.
If you are ready to volunteer, register today, and once you are registered, you will receive instructions on attending a volunteer orientation via Zoom.
Volunteers must be 18 years old or older unless they are accompanied by a legal guardian or are working with a youth group with teachers and/or counselors. If you have a child under 18 years old that would like to volunteer with you, please review additional information on volunteering with minor children when you complete the registration form.

Volunteers Make It Happen
Volunteer Registration & Orientation
DFW Humane Society has adjusted our volunteer registration and orientation processes due to the ongoing health risks of COVID-19. If you have not previously registered to volunteer, please complete the initial registration process and registration payment. Once you are registered, you will receive information about attending an upcoming online orientation via Zoom. These online orientation classes are held at regular intervals based on the number of people that need to complete the orientation.
Once you have completed online orientation, you will be provided an opportunity to sign up for small group in-person training with an existing volunteer. The in-person orientation will cover pet handling, shelter cleaning procedures, and other relevant shelter education to set you up for success.
