You can do your part to help the animals at the DFW Humane Society by participating in the 14th Annual Walk for the Animals - Miles for Maggie's Pals at Irving Mall, Irving, TX. The money raised will go to feed, shelter and care for over 140 animals that have been lost or abandoned and are awaiting new homes. It is volunteers like you, that make a difference.

Here's how you can help Maggie's Pals:

• Register to be a walker: ($10.00 Registeration Fee for Adults. $0.00 Registration Fee for minors. Registration Fee contributes toward your total pledge amount.
  • Online - Online Registration must be done first to allow your sponsors to pledge online. The Shelter will track your pledges and sponsors.
  • In person at the Shelter
• Get Pledges: Get pledges from your family, friends, and co-workers. Pledges may be made based on the number of laps you walk, for example $1.00 per lap, or just as a flat donation.
  • Quick and easy on-line E-Mail Solicitation will allow you to reach your friends, family, and contacts anywhere in the world. Just click on the link to the sample pledge request, copy the sample, and drop into your email program, edit as you see fit. Links within the email request make giving quick and easy for your sponsors. Send it to everyone you know. Remind your people when they pledge on-line to put your name and the state they are from on the note line in Paypal.
  • Contact your sponsors personally or by phone. Use a paper pledge form to keep track of pledges. This form is available at the shelter or you can download a copy of the Pledge Form.
• Come Out to the Walk: On April 5th, 2008, check in at 8:00 AM in the Food Court at the Irving Mall. The mall is located on the Northwest corner of the Highway 183 (Airport Freeway) and Beltline Road intersection in Irving, TX. If you have tracked pledges on a paper pledge sheet, please bring a copy to the walk.
  • Note: If you must miss the Walk for any reason, any money donated by your sponsors and collected by April 30th, 2008 will be counted toward the amount you raise. You are eligible for the top prizes that are based on donations whether or not you walk. Only walkers are eligible for the Second Chance Drawing.
• Walk From 8 AM - 10 AM: Give your best for Maggie's Pals in the air-conditioned comfort of the mall. Walk as many laps as you can around the inside of the mall until 10:00 AM CST. (1 lap is approximately 1 mile)
• Collect Pledges: Go back to your friends, family and co-workers and collect the pledges pledges made via your paper pledge sheet. Donations are tax deductible, and checks should be made out to: DFW Humane Society.
