Happy to be Home
These are the images and stories of former residents of the DFW Humane Society. Each found a comforting home and loving owners to care for them. If you adopted your pet through our Humane Society, we'd love for you to share your story. You may do so at this link.

Jodie/Domino (owner: Amber + Erik N.) I fell in love with Jodie's picture on Petfinder and knew she was the one for us. When we went to get her she was a scrawny little thing on a course of antibiotics for her upper respiratory infection and we could not take her home until she was better. For two weeks I harassed the good people at the DFW Humane Society hoping she would be well enough to come home with us ... it was a long two weeks but definitely worth the wait. We named her Domino and she took to us and her new home instantly. She is the sweetest, most loving purr machine and we are blessed to have her as a part of our family. Thank you DFW Humane Society, you guys are awesome for rescuing her from a kill shelter and now she brightens her forever home every day.
Jackson (owner: Angela L.) Jackson is a 10 year old poodle that came to the shelter as a stray. Because of his advanced age and health problems, no one would take him. He came to our house for a "slumber party" that continues today! He is so sweet and loving- we are very lucky.
Chompers (owner: Audry S.) Hi! I'm Chompers. I love cozy naps on the couch, playing "Mario ball" (a game mom and dad made up) and the challenge of a new chewie. I'll do anything for an apple or Frosty Paw
Starsky (owner: Bonnie B.) Starsky was adopted 2 years ago from the DFW Humane Society. We fell in love with his name & looks on the website, and after a few weeks, went up to meet him. There were so many furry possibilities there, but we went home with our guy. Two years later, he rules the roost around here! Full of personality, loving, quirky~!
Frankie (owner: Brook B.) No one wanted to adopt Frankie because he needed medication on his food, and couldn't share food with other cats. He loved to be petted and held, and would lay in your arms and purr for hours. I wasn't planning on adopting another cat but he stole my heart and I already had two other special needs cats so I was well prepared to meet his needs. I brought him home, and now he thanks me every day with purrs and love and he even plays fetch with me. He is my little angel and my (now) 3 cat family is very happy to have him in our lives!
Daisy (fka "squeaky") (owner: Chad & Trina B.) Daisy has settled into her new home extremely well. She wakes us up every morning trying to find that "thing" under the covers that she tried to find the night before when we went to bed. lol She loves to sit on her big pink mouse and find it again. She also loves to attack her brother Bonzo (adopted at same time) whenever he walks by or decides he needs to visit the litter box. She is just the most adorable, loving, playful little girl. We are so happy to have found her and happy she has made us part of her loving forever family <3
