Each year, your support provides for hundreds of life-saving pet rescues from other shelters, daily food, care, and enrichment, major medical procedures, and heartworm treatments.
Your generosity is a vital part of providing these precious animals a second chance for happiness, health, and a loving, stable home. The need for safe shelters like ours continues to grow, and we want to ensure that we are prepared to take on challenges new and old.
We continue to provide our pets with daily care, food, vaccinations, and other essential needs and enrichment. In addition, we incur additional expenditures such as spay and neuter procedures, wellness exams, and emergency medical care or other life-saving treatments coordinated through local veterinary clinics.

At DFW Humane, we rely on generous donations to help us care for the animals in our shelter. There are certain items we go through quickly, and having a steady supply makes a huge impact on the comfort and well-being of our pets.
Items we are always in need of:
• Pill pockets for cats and dogs
• Towels & blankets
• Chew toys & plush toys
• Pet wipes & paper towels
• Dawn dish soap & sponges
• XL trash bags
• 2-gallon zipper freezer bags

Angel for Keeps
This program will provide resources and financial assistance to pet owners who would surrender their pets to a shelter due to their temporary inability to afford a proper solution related to medical, behavior, general care and housing changes for their beloved companion. Services included medical care, behavior problems, housing changes, and food and pet supplies. This program will be case by case basis and covered by donations and grants when available. The impact will preserve the human/animal bond, keep beloved companions where they belong and reduce incoming animals to shelters with the risk of euthanasia.
